How far does 1 gallon of paint go?
Use the coverage range printed for the exact paint and surface. If a hypothetical product covers 350 square feet per gallon per coat, one gallon covers 350 square feet for one coat or 175 square feet for two coats before allowance. Porosity, preparation and application can change actual use. Enter the product’s own coverage in the paint planner.
How much will a 5 gallon bucket of paint cover?
Multiply the selected product’s coverage per gallon by five, then divide by the number of coats. For example, 5 × 350 ÷ 2 = 875 square feet for two coats before allowance. The 350 figure is an arithmetic example, not a specification for every paint. Measure the walls and subtract openings before ordering.
How long should you wait for a second coat of paint?
Read the recoat interval for the exact product, not only its dry-to-touch time. Temperature, humidity, ventilation and film thickness can affect the process. A surface that feels dry may not yet be ready for another coat or for regular use. Keep the product data sheet with your project notes.
How do I know what size cabinet pulls I need?
For a replacement, measure the distance between the centers of the existing screw holes. That is separate from the handle’s overall length. Also check projection, screw length, door or drawer thickness, and whether the new base covers existing marks. For new holes, mock up the position before drilling.
Will drywall anchors hold a shelf?
There is no universal answer for a shelf and an unspecified anchor. Identify the wall construction, bracket geometry, load direction, intended contents and the exact fixing system. Use the fixing maker’s approved application data; a load printed for one substrate or installation is not transferable to another. Get suitable trade advice when the wall or required capacity is uncertain.
Can I prime and paint the same day?
Possibly, if the primer and paint system explicitly allow it under your conditions. Use the primer’s topcoat interval and compatible coating guidance, and allow for the surface preparation to be complete. A calendar-day shortcut should not replace the manufacturer’s timing.
